About

Maharishi Patanjali was an ancient Indian sage, philosopher, and yogi who is traditionally regarded as the compiler of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, one of the foundational texts of classical yoga philosophy. His exact dates are uncertain, but he is generally placed somewhere between the 2nd century BCE and 4th century CE. The Yoga Sutras contain 196 concise aphorisms explaining the nature of the mind, meditation, ethical discipline, and the path toward spiritual liberation.
